Hi Friend,

For months, our Virginia candidates have been knocking on doors,
connecting with voters, and advocating for their vision of a more
progressive Commonwealth. Now that Election Day is just weeks away,
they’re pulling out all the stops to win their races with one big goal in
mind: [ Donate ]flipping the General Assembly blue on November 5th.

These Democrats are running in competitive, high-stakes districts in
Virginia. One is challenging the GOP Speaker of the House of Delegates,
now a 29-year incumbent. Another faces a Republican lawmaker who is
licensed to sell guns out of his state Senate office. Many more are
running against GOP delegates who blocked Virginia’s ratification of the
Equal Rights Amendment—effectively preventing legal gender equality for
women—back in February. 

Flippable candidate Clint Jenkins (center) is running against a 21-year
incumbent in House District 76, who has 10 times as much cash on hand
according to September’s fundraising report.

In this final month before Election Day, we’re focusing our fundraising on
nine of Virginia’s toughest races. Compared to their GOP opponents, these
nine candidates were either significantly outraised in the last quarter or
have much less cash on hand to get them through November 5th. Democrats
need to net two flips in each chamber of the General Assembly to win the
majority—and smart investments in these nine districts will help us get
there. The less our candidates have to worry about raising money, the more
time they can spend talking with voters in the lead up to the election.
