John:
Are you angered by ongoing environmental racism? Do you believe residents of public housing here in New York City deserve a better deal from the city’s political class? Well, we have a great opportunity for you!
WE ACT for Environmental Justice is looking for short-term, part-time, contract Phone Canvassers to help us build out our voter engagement program for the primary and general election in NYC this year. This will be a five-week assignment starting in late April and ending the first week of May. Working remotely from your home or at our headquarters in Northern Manhattan, you’ll work alongside our Voter Engagement team to contact voters over the phone who live in NYCHA, commit them to vote for candidates that support environmental justice and NYCHA reform, and to volunteer for our Get Out The Vote campaign.
No experience is necessary. We’ll train you on effective phone canvassing, volunteer recruitment, and in utilizing the best voter contact tools available today. And once you’re trained, you’ll have the freedom to alternate between two weekly shifts: 11-4 PM (working from our NYC HQ) or 4-9 PM (working remotely). For those who succeed here, you’ll have marketable skills that will be in high demand for the elections this fall and in the 2022 cycle.
If you’re ready to make a difference in this year’s critical New York City elections working alongside environmental justice communities, apply today!
