Fighting to Protect Abortion Survivors
On Wednesday, I filed the discharge petition for the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act with Representatives Ann Wagner (R-MO) and Kat Cammack (R-FL). This legislation mandates that any infant born alive after an abortion receives the same standard of care as any newborn baby. This legislation would also institute penalties for abortionists who allow infants to die or who intentionally kill a newborn.
Protecting newborn babies is about basic decency. I’m proud to join my fellow House Republicans in making it clear that abortion survivors ought to have the same rights under the law as any other baby entering the world.
Speaker Pelosi and her far-left caucus will not uphold the most basic right — the right to life — or defend newborn babies from being killed by abortionists. We will not stand by as she blocks this critical legislation from coming to the floor.
Welcoming Congresswoman Julia Letlow to the U.S. House of Representatives
It's with great honor that, on behalf of the entire Louisiana delegation and behalf of all of my colleagues, we welcome Julia Letlow to Congress.
This has been Julia and Luke Letlow’s journey for over a year, and we all still grieve for the loss of Luke. But Julia never backed down, never looked back. She moved forward and she said, ‘We're going to continue this journey on.’
She's got a great record of service. We are so excited to have her in our delegation. We're especially proud that Julia is the first Republican woman ever elected to Congress from Louisiana. Click here or on the image below to watch the video of my introduction.
Meeting with the Northshore Business Council and Touring Champagne Beverage Co.
This week, I had the pleasure of speaking with the Northshore Business Council in Covington about economic growth in the Northshore area and the need to fully re-open our economy.
I also enjoyed touring the Champagne Beverage Co. facility in Madisonville. Joel Champagne, President of the company, told me about how the Paycheck Protection Program allowed him to maintain business operations and continue to keep his employees on payroll.
It is an honor to represent you in Congress. For more information, please visit my website, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
