Check out the latest from NYGOP Volume 11 | April 17th 2021 This Week at the NYGOP Follow Us On Social Media! ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Dear John, This week, Democrats in Congress launched their most aggressive attack yet, unveiling legislation to pack the Supreme Court. This is nothing more than a naked power grab by the radical left who are hellbent on taking control of every aspect of our American government and way of life. They control big media, big tech, Hollywood, our higher-education institutions, Congress and the White House. They won't stop until they have taken control of the Supreme Court, too. Catch up on all the details in this week's edition of the NYGOP weekly newsletter. We value all of your feedback and questions! Don't forget to hit the button below and send in any questions you may have for Chairman Langworthy and we will feature one in next week's newsletter! NYGOP Team Ask a Question! Question from Last Week: From Frank: How is it that the media and Democrats told us they took away Cuomo's executive powers, yet he just extended the curfews on bars and restaurants? Answer: Simply put, Frank: they lied. Democrats in the legislature actually extended the Governor's emergency powers indefinitely and that's why he was allowed to extend this nonsensical regulation. The one thing they could do was override him, but just as they've done throughout this pandemic, they've allowed him to operate unchecked and without a care for how his arbitrary edicts affect others. This asinine regulation unfairly targets restaurants and bars, while casinos, bowling alleys, movie theaters and gyms. Curfews never made sense--covid isn't more contagious after a certain time, but our food and beverage service industries have been hurt the worst. This is part of the insanity we are fighting against & the NYGOP will always have the backs of our small businesses. Disillusioned NYC Democrats Switching to Republican Party! Read More Here! Andrew Cuomo, a state lawmaker overseeing the effort said. Republican Assemblyman Michael Montesano said the investigators—a team of lawyers at the law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP hired by the New York state Assembly—were sifting through the calls and emails. Mr. Montesano said he didn’t have more information about the tips that have been received. The Assembly launched an impeachment probe March 11. If it votes to impeach Mr. Cuomo, it would be the first impeachment of a New York governor since 1913. "It's insanity. If we are going to stop the mass exodus of our family, friends, and neighbors, we need common sense to make a comeback in this state." Another aide said that Cuomo once accused him of failing to head off aggressive reporting from a female journalist for personal reasons, asking, “You banging her?” He could also bridle at the indignity of voter courtship, growing especially irritated about an event celebrating Sukkot, the Jewish harvest holiday when the faithful gather outdoors beneath temporary shelters of branches and greenery. “These people and their fucking tree houses,” Cuomo vented to his team, according to a person who witnessed it and another who was briefed on his comments at the time. That has potential Republican challengers starting to emerge, and there’s at least some talk about the 36-year-old four-term incumbent from Saratoga County, who represents the North Country’s 21st Congressional District. The congresswoman, who has raised her national profile in recent months with various appearances on conservative-oriented television news networks, isn’t discouraging such talk.
