Huge news, John:

The House Oversight and Reform Committee just cleared legislation that would finally make Washington DC a state and give its nearly 700,000 residents a voice in our government.

Republicans are going to do EVERYTHING to block this, so before we start pushing, we need to get your feedback on how invested you are in making this happen:

Would you take our one-minute survey on DC statehood?

Here are two points to consider:

- DC residents have NO representation in the US Senate -- despite having 700,000 residents, paying federal taxes, and the majority wanting to become a state

- DC's population of 700,000 is comparable to several other states including Alaska, Wyoming, and Delaware

Republicans are not afraid of doing whatever it takes to pass their right-wing agenda and build real power. That's why we see them restricting voting rights and gerrymandering districts all across the country.

We can take them on by doing the right thing and giving hundreds of thousands of Americans the representation they deserve.

But we want to know what you think: Take our DC statehood survey today >> [link removed]

Thanks in advance,
