And what we're doing about it
Hey there,
Nothing gets me more fired up than Big Tech acting like the gatekeeper and arbitrator of truth. And they’re at it again with some truly egregious and baseless censorship of conservatives over the past week.
First, Twitter announced yesterday that it has PERMANENTLY BANNED conservative journalist and Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe. They claim, without providing evidence, that O’Keefe violated their policies on “spam.” This happened to coincide perfectly with the release of O’Keefe’s latest investigation, in which he released video footage of the CNN Technical Director admitting that the network creates “propaganda,” engages in selective reporting, and worked tirelessly to get former President Donald Trump out of office.
Yesterday’s troubling events between Twitter and Project Veritas should concern everyone — left, right, and center. It is becoming easier and easier for Big Tech to silence people they view as "problematic." And I’m afraid it’s going to get worse before it gets better.
Consider what else the social media giants have inserted themselves in over the past couple of weeks:
- On the same day that Twitter banned O’Keefe, Facebook banned the NY Post’s article about Patrisse Cullors (co-founder of BLM) purchasing expensive real estate in predominantly white neighborhoods. They say that the Post violated their “privacy and personal information” policy, but everything in the Post’s story was obtained through public records.
- Last weekend, YouTube removed a video of a panel discussion between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and a number of health policy experts for spreading “misinformation” on masks, because they dared to question the efficacy of masks for children.
