| Planned Parenthood Apologizes for Racism? It's Still Their Core Mission |
| | A recent Politico interview with Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson promised far more than it delivered. The title of the interview, “Planned Parenthood vs. White Supremacy” implied that the interviewer would be asking hard-hitting questions about the abortion giant’s complicity in advancing the goals of the eugenics movement and their current focus on targeting minority communities for abortion. In a display of the media’s refusal to hold the abortion industry accountable, the interview was little more than a PR stunt for Planned Parenthood. Instead of pressing in on the abortion industry’s ongoing racism, the interviewer was quick to emphasize McGill Johnson’s past role in crafting an implicit bias and diversity training for Starbucks a few years ago and offered no pushback when she downplayed the company’s racist legacy, insisting that she was committed to “shifting [the] infrastructure” of racism by continuing to expand abortion. In their report, Politico writes, The 104-year-old Planned Parenthood is still reckoning with its relationship to white supremacy. There are still major disparities in access to reproductive health care among women of color. Equitable policies, such as expanding access to affordable abortion care for low-income and women of color, are still essential. |

| Federal Court Rules in Favor of Down Syndrome Protections |
| | Via Live Action A federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday that Ohio can enforce its ban on discriminatory abortions due to a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome. The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals was divided on the issue but ultimately sided 9 to 7 in favor of the 2017 law that imposes criminal penalties on abortionists who commit abortions with the knowledge that the abortion is being carried out due to a diagnosis of Down syndrome or the possibility of such a diagnosis. Anyone who does so could be charged with a fourth-degree felony. The court determined that the law did not create a substantial obstacle to a woman’s ability to get an abortion, despite the arguments of groups that sued to block the law. Four abortion businesses sued Ohio over the law: Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, Women’s Med, and Preterm-Cleveland — an abortion facility responsible for the deaths of at least two women that has injured many others. That lawsuit led a federal judge to block the law in 2018, and in 2019, a panel of the Sixth Circuit ruled two to one to block the law, but this latest ruling reverses the Sixth Circuit’s decision. |

| Do Kids Benefit When a Disabled Sibling is Aborted? |
| | “You need to think about what’s best for her,” said the doctor as he pointed toward Cara Murtaugh’s three-year-old daughter, Aria, arguing that having a sibling with special needs might not be in Aria’s “best interest.” The past year has proven otherwise. In a recent Instagram post, Cara contrasted the doctor’s cynical, hopeless words with footage of Aria holding her baby brother Samuel as the two of them smiled and laughed. “Someone’s never been more wrong,” she said in another post. Stories of doctors pressuring parents to abort children with disabilities are far too common. It is especially horrifying when a doctor insists that aborting a child is in the “best interest” of his or her siblings. By saying that aborting Samuel would be in Aria’s best interest, the doctor was arguing that Samuel needed to die in order to give Aria a more idyllic, carefree childhood. This is truly horrifying reasoning, and yet this is the logic of the abortion industry. Human life is never an inconvenience or a burden to be borne. It is a priceless gift, and no one’s life can ever be made less valuable by any challenges that they face. This is something that the abortion industry refuses to understand. Instead of seeking ways to meet needs and come alongside people who are facing challenges, the abortion industry seeks to eliminate the people facing those challenges. This is not an ethic of compassion, but an ethic of convenience and it is deadly. |

| Title X Funding Change Will Give Planned Parenthood at Least $60+ Million in Additional Funding |
| | Via The Daily Citizen The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced today that it is taking concrete steps to reverse the Title X policy put in place by the former administration that will likely return at least $60+ million to abortion mill Planned Parenthood. During the Trump administration, HHS instituted a policy called Protect Life Rule, and it required abortion providers to separate their abortion business from their health care clinic if they wanted to continue receiving Title X funding, which covers birth control and other reproductive health care but not abortion. Planned Parenthood, as the nation’s largest abortion provider, declined this specific funding at the time. Now, the HHS, which is being led by pro-abortion politician Xavier Becerra, is rolling back those changes and looking to return at least $60 million or more in funding to Planned Parenthood. In an official press release, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said, “HHS proposes to revise the Title X rules to strengthen the program and ensure access to equitable, affordable, client-centered, quality family planning services for all clients, especially for low-income clients. Advancing equity for all, including people of color and others who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality, is a priority for the Department.” Across the country, pro-abortion groups and politicians voiced their support. “Great News!” Planned Parenthood Action began on a Twitter thread. “The Biden-Harris admin just proposed ending the Title X gag rule! This dangerous policy undermines the only federal program dedicated to providing sexual and reproductive health care to people with low incomes. The president of Planned Parenthood Alexis McGill Johnson wrote, “Thank you @POTUS @VP @SecBecerra!! Title X should have never become a political football to begin with, and it should never be used to deny people care again. Let’s end this discriminatory policy and restore access to essential sexual + reproductive health care. #RightfullyOurs.” However, who was really denying health care? Was it the former administration, or was it pro-abortion businesses that were unwilling to bend at all in their practices in order to continue treating patients? |
