Make the next Commons Speaker a Woman
Sign today ([link removed][UNIQID])

Soon John Bercow will step-down from his position as Speaker of the House. The Speaker has a vital role in democracy by maintaining order in the Commons during debates.

In over 600 years Parliament has only ever had one woman Speaker. It’s time for the next.

Having a woman Speaker will:
* Change the face of Parliament
* Show women and girls that politics is for women as well as men
* Send a positive message about women’s empowerment to democracies around the world

There have been 156 male Speakers but only one woman, Betty Boothroyd who was Speaker from 1992-2000. At present our parliamentary democracy is in crisis. We need to reset the face of Parliament and of politics.

Campaign with us to make Parliament work for women. Sign today! ([link removed][UNIQID])
