Coalition: Wisconsin lawmakers should allow parents to direct K-12 funds from American Rescue Plan

The Badger Institute this week joined a coalition of state and national organizations in sending a letter to Wisconsin policymakers asking them to use the $1.5 billion in K-12 funding provided by the American Rescue Plan to support a range of course options for struggling students.

During the pandemic, many Wisconsin students have fallen behind, failed classes or gone missing. Since families know what is best for their children, policymakers should give parents the ability to choose courses that will help get their children get back on a solid academic footing.
