Hi folks! This is an RSVP-only teleconference tomorrow April 17 at 10 AM. By 3 pm this today RSVP HERE at this link. If you registered previously you will receive a reminder with the Zoom meeting  link. Any problems email: [email protected].

Thursday, 7 state senators voted YES on horrific SB 9: Caballero, Cortese, McGuire, Skinner, Umberg, Wieckowski and of course Wiener. SB 9 destroys single-family streets that house 21M Californians. To let investors erect 6 rental units per lot. Two senators voted NO: Pat Bates and Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh, who we should all thank.

This week, a highly respected Democratic legislative analyst told Los Angeles/South Bay voters, “It’s not an academic argument where real-world data carries the day. It’s ideology."

As in 2020, state senators (and some assembly members) are hiding the horrific and failied SB 50, by Scott Wiener, in the Five Bad Bills of 2021.

Please join us Saturday for a fascinating reveal and strategy against Five Bad Bills of 2021:

  • How bad bills get forced through Sacto’s rarely reported committee hearings.
  • How these bills indiscriminately destroy communities from working-class to well-off.
  • How to understand each bill, filled with misleading, absurd, purposely dense jargon.
  • How to educate/swing your legislator. Most have no idea. Or they fear Wiener & Atkins.

Yes, there are several Good Bills, we’ll give you a great list!

By the end of our teleconference, you’ll have a PhD in What’s Gone Wrong in the Capitol.

Folks, we’re little guys fighting very big money. Wiener has accepted more cash from developer/investors than any legislator we know of in the West. We ask you to please donate here, now to Livable California. So we can push back. We thank you so very much!

On Saturday, you’ll meet friends from across California who have had Zooms and calls with their legislators and can share with you how to jump in. You’re not alone!

To access our Zoom on Sat., you must be signed up by today HERE at this link. We prefer participants from groups, but individuals are warmly welcome!

Livable California is a non-profit statewide group of community leaders, activists and local elected officials. We believe in local answers to the housing affordability crisis. Our robust fight requires trips to Sacramento & a lobbyist going toe-to-toe with power. Please donate generously to LivableCalifornia.org here.
