We live in a changing world, and testing new and emerging technology is vital to forecast how people will travel around the city for years to come.

Our submission to the Department for Transports Future Mobility Zones fund will enable us to trial new and exciting developments in transport including; new vehicles, smart ticketing, data driven insights and the sharing economy to help future-proof travel in the city.

The bid seeks to integrate information and payment options to support uptake of new and existing mobility services.

The bid was submitted to the Department for Transport on Monday 30 September 2019, we expect to hear the result of this bid later this autumn.

Collin Street closed for intu Broadmarsh works

*Friday 11 October - Monday 14 October: Collin Street
*Collin Street will be closed [ [link removed] ] from 10pm Friday 11 October until 6am Monday 14 October as part of the renovations to intu Broadmarsh. Signed diversions will be in place, but this will severely affect traffic in the area, so we advise you allow more time for your journey if travelling through the city centre. More here... A new path for cyclists and pedestrians along Clifton Lane
Clifton Lane works

Work is underway to create a shared cycle and pedestrian path along Clifton Lane - better connecting Clifton with routes towards the city centre.

The pavement on the northern side of the road will be widened and resurfaced to accommodate a new shared cycle and footpath. Improvements will be made to the side road and access road entrances and green surfacing laid to show cycle and pedestrian priority.

We want to know your thoughts about a recent change in services offered by Nottingham City Council.

Since the introduction of the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme, Nottingham City Council has offered more than the statutory requirements for residents. This has included additional free travel for Mobility cardholders before 9.30am and after 11pm. As a result of budget cuts from central government, in September 2018 the Council reluctantly withdrew this additional benefit for Mobility cardholders.

This difficult decision to stop free travel outside the national scheme was made due to budget constraints. However, cardholders have continued to receive the benefits of the national concessionary scheme, and in the 11 months since the additional concession was withdrawn the measure has actually saved the council approximately 250,000.

*We would like to hear if this change to services has affected you, and to what extent. We are running a survey to gather views, and present alternative options.*

East Midlands Ambulance goes electric!

East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) provides emergency 999 care and telephone clinical assessment services for 4.8 million people. The service has 714 vehicles and recently commissioned its first two electric vehicles for its fast response service.

EMAS is committed to reducing its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 30% from 2014/2015 to 2020. To boost their journey, they applied for agrantthrough ourWorkplace Travel Serviceand received 25,000 to install eight new charge points.

Try a tram day

We are working with NET to host try a tram day at Hucknall Park & Ride on Wednesday 17 October between 10am and 2pm.

Try a tram day aims to increase the accessibility to public transport in Nottingham and help people build the skills and confidence to use the tram.

During the day, school and disability groups will learn all about the tram as well as important and vital skills that make travelling on the tram more safe for everyone.
