Assalamu'alaykum John, 2020 was a tough year, but it was also a year filled with a number of exciting and important achievements.
With funding from MLFA, the Constitutional Law Center for Muslims in America (CLCMA), fought a number of important cases, taking on some of the most menacing aspects of the government’s national security policy. Representation and other legal assistance was provided to a number of Muslim charities, enabling them to continue their essential work in the communities they serve. And
individuals and families finding themselves caught up in an unfair and complicated bureaucratic immigration system have received the help they need to achieve legal status in the US and finally be able to get on with their lives.
In addition to funding legal assistance to those individuals and organizations who would otherwise struggle to navigate the complicated web of governmental rules and regulations, MLFA has initiated several programs and partnerships—like the Lilly School Partnership—designed to provide even more comprehensive resources for those in need of legal help and advice.
The work MLFA is
doing today will have far-reaching effects, building a legacy for future generations. 2020 was a great year for us, but we still have so much we want to do, but we need your help to do it.
