Since day one of the new administration, we have called on President Biden to build an administration that prioritizes breast cancer.
That’s because our accountability work is paramount to achieving health justice for all people at risk of and living with breast cancer. We cannot and will not stop until we know that our leaders are actively protecting the health and safety of our communities. But we need your support.

Since our founding, we have pushed the leaders of agencies and elected officials to address systemic injustices that create disparities in treatment and outcomes for communities of color, women, and people living with and at risk of breast cancer. We have ramped up this work in the last few months, and put out calls to action directed at the Biden-Harris administration to appoint Food and Drug Administration (FDA) leadership that will put our health and safety before corporate profits.
In the coming months, we will hold accountable and work to strengthen agency leadership by:
- Continuing to apply pressure to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to change the way it addresses the public’s exposure to environmental toxins, and to educate researchers, health providers, and the general public on the link between chemical exposures and breast cancer.
- Remain critical of FDA leadership and make sure the agency uses scientific evidence to review and approve breast cancer drugs and treatments that are more effective, less toxic, and improve overall survival.
- Provide our patient-centered and independent analysis on decisions affecting healthcare and ensure any proposed changes move in the direction of the enactment of universal healthcare that is compassionate, evidence-based, culturally humble, and supportive of patient decision-making.
