I was going to send you a different email today. Because on this day 14 years ago, a gunman killed 32 people and injured 17 more at Virginia Tech, the college I attended in my home state. He was armed with two semi-automatic pistols and high-capacity magazines.

But today, we woke up to news of another high-profile mass shooting that left eight people dead in Indianapolis, IN. The details of this tragedy are still emerging, but one thing is absolutely clear: We must take action against this deadly epidemic. Enough is enough.

There is over a decade between these two mass shootings, but we have still not seen action. Right now, the U.S. Senate has the power to pass gun safety legislation that will save lives and could help stop the next American tragedy – but we’re going to need a massive outpouring of grassroots support from activists like you to get it done.
