Honestly, a lot has been happening this month. With all that’s going on, we haven’t been focused on the usual campaign fundraising priorities. And that’s okay!
Alexandria has spent a lot of time in the district these past few weeks, visiting with the families and business owners who have been affected by two massive fires in Jackson Heights, Queens. Together with this team, she helped raise over $28,000 collectively to get community members affected by the fires back on their feet.
Then, Alexandria and this team helped raise $26,613 for the Nevada Democratic Party to help make up for the funds that the establishment staff transferred after all five leadership positions in the Party were swept up by progressive DSA candidates.
On top of all that, with the pandemic continuing to ravage communities, we’ve expanded our Homework Helpers program to include extracurricular activities for children who need extra help and hobbies while schools are closed.
Obviously, we haven’t been focused on fundraising for our campaign. And, again, that’s okay. Alexandria’s focus will always be on supporting our community and delivering results for working families across the country.
But, it does leave us with a pretty big gap in fundraising at the moment, and that’s why we really could use your help today. If you are able, can you chip in $3 right now to help us close this gap in fundraising and power our campaign forward?
We’ve only raised about a third as much in April as we had at this point in March. That’s why we need to have a really big mid-month fundraising surge to ensure we don’t fall too far behind.
Our average donation this month is about $14.43, so it would take somewhere around 18,000 supporters reading this right now chipping in that amount to close the gap completely.
