As Matt Cartwright’s Finance Director, I spend a lot of time talking to people about money and elections.

I’ll talk to people about how important Matt’s race is to Democrats keeping control of the House in 2022.

I’ll talk about how Matt is the only Democrat in Pennsylvania to represent a district that Donald Trump won.

I’ll talk about how we already have an opponent in our race, and top Republican groups have spent big money to lob in outside attack ads.

And a lot of times people will nod and say that they fully support us — but they aren’t ready to donate yet. They tell me to reach out a few months or weeks before the election and they will be happy to help then.

But the truth is, John, that by the time we are a few weeks from the election the die is already cast. It’s too late. Because while, understandably, many folks only start tuning into elections a few months before — Republicans are spending every waking moment trying to flip our seat from blue to red.

That’s why I’m asking you personally, John: Will you make an early investment in our critical swing seat? By getting lots of grassroots donations in the door early we can protect this swing seat and not let it slip through our fingers.
