Millions of animals are plucked from their habitats every year to be sold in the wildlife trade as trinkets and hunting trophies, designer boots and unproven cure-alls. 

This trade threatens thousands of animals and plants with extinction. It's time to get serious about curbing the crisis. 

Next year many nations will meet under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, or CITES, to choose which species get protection from deadly trade.

It's the Biden administration’s best opportunity to stand up, speak out and start leading the world away from its heartbreaking and dangerous exploitation of wildlife.

The administration is planning for the meeting now — and it needs to hear from you.

Tell Biden's Fish and Wildlife Service to assertively propose protections for all imperiled wildlife affected by trade. That means protecting giant bees from collectors, sea cucumbers from the luxury food market, polar bears from the rug trade, and turtles from being snatched out of their home ponds to become pets. It means cracking down on trade in colorful aquarium fish, huge hippos, charismatic seahorses — and many, many others.

Act now to help this administration stand strong and stamp out the imperiled species trade through CITES.
