The past week has been an endless cycle of breaking news, but rest assured that while we are investigating, we are still working. We can legislate and investigate at the same time.

Here are a few of the bills the House has passed under a Democratic majority, while we work to simultaneously hold Donald Trump accountable:
  • H.R. 1 - The For the People Act to expand voting rights, make Election Day a federal holiday, create automatic voter registration and improve election security.
  • H.R. 8 - The Bipartisan Background Checks Act to establish universal background checks and get rid of the ‘gun show loophole.’
  • H.R. 5 - The Equality Act to ban discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation and gender identity in the workplace, housing, healthcare and other public spaces.
  • H.R. 6 - The DREAM and Promise Act to create a pathway to citizenship for the nearly 800,000 undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children.
  • H.R.9 - The Climate Action Now Act to rejoin the Paris Agreement and keep our promises to cut greenhouse gas emissions and act on climate change.
  • H.R. 582 - The Raise the Wage Act to gradually increase the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025.
Coming up next is:
  • H.R.3 - The Lower Drug Costs Now Act to establish a fair price negotiation program, protect the Medicare program from excessive price increases and establish an out-of-pocket maximum for Medicare part D enrollees.
Improving our transportation and infrastructure, lowering prescription drug prices, reigning in dark money's influence in elections, addressing and combating climate change and reforming gun laws to save lives remain top priorities for the House Democrats.

We can walk and chew gum at the same time.

If the President is serious about some of these issues, as he says he is, he can pick up the phone, call Mitch McConnell and tell him to keep his oath to the American people and do his job.

No more excuses.
