Working both independently and with team members and colleagues from across the council, you will be working to process applications from citizens to purchase properties under the Right to Buy scheme. We are currently looking for the right person to join our small supportive, but very busy, team. Daily activities will include deciding whether applications meet the statutory criteria for the scheme and what level of discount and fees should be applied, and assisting applicants with the requirements of the process.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:?
    • A basic knowledge of the Right to Buy scheme including the qualifying criteria.
    • Ability to analyse and interpret relevant legislation to any given type of application with varying circumstances and situations.
    • Qualification in maths to at least GCSE level 2
    • Display good customer service skills and experience of dealing tactfully and helpfully with the public and professional bodies.
    • Ability to communicate efficiently in difficult or complex situations.
    • Experience in working with database software systems including interrogating, updating and maintaining systems

TEAM INFORMATION

The Personalisation Hub is a fast paced team, supporting children, young people and adults with learning and physical disabilities to manage their Direct Payments in a way that promotes independence and choice over the way their care is provided.
?
The Personalisation Hub receives and processes referrals and requests for information and support from both professionals and citizens and their families, as well as completing regular reviews and quality assurance of services in line with the citizen?s care plan and agreed outcomes.
?
Personal Budgets Officers are responsible for ensuring payment of Personal Budgets via a Direct Payment for children, young people and vulnerable adults.? In addition, the Personal Budgets Officers are responsible for ensuring payments to Direct Payments support services are made in line with the Council?s financial regulations.
?
They provide assistance / advice to citizens, social care practitioners, health colleagues and external agencies relating to all aspects of Direct Payments, and act as first point of contact for any queries relating to these.
?
The successful candidate should have a good knowledge of / aptitude for electronic recording and financial systems, as they are expected to maintain and monitor the financial and administrative systems pertinent to the scheme on a regular basis. An ability to use Microsoft Excel to an intermediate or advanced level is desirable.
?
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:?

  1. Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) the statutory and regulatory framework for direct payments and self-directed support across children?s and adult services;
  2. Ability to use IT systems, in particular Excel, but also Word, database packages, mainframe applications and email for the effective management of information;
  3. Ability to quickly acquire new skills and knowledge as business needs change.
  4. Experience of working with or knowledge of the issues pertinent to disabled children and carers in a multicultural environment
