GIVE NOW to support our urgent campaign to STOP the TRUST Act!

Dear John,
We knew it was coming … A bipartisan group of U.S. Senators, including U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (UT), has just reintroduced the “TRUST Act” which will pave the way for the creation of so-called “Rescue Committees” for Social Security and Medicare — and set up these essential programs for massive cuts in the future — all in order to pay down soaring budget deficits.
These rescue committees could propose large cuts to benefits and changes to the retirement age, among other devastating proposals. In addition, the committees would operate outside of regular order and their recommendations would be fast-tracked to the House and Senate floor.
I’m deeply concerned that unless we fight back now, this dangerous piece of legislation could gain the support it needs in Congress to land on President Biden’s desk for his signature.
We simply cannot afford for Social Security and Medicare benefit cuts to be rammed through Congress by a select “committee”! So please help the National Committee put maximum pressure on U.S. Senators to REJECT the “TRUST Act” by making one urgent donation today!
Reducing seniors’ earned benefits is not the way to shore up Social Security and Medicare. But opponents of these programs want you to believe the only way to “rescue” them is through harmful cuts and radical changes. That’s simply not true!
There is no question that we must pass legislation that addresses Social Security’s projected shortfall in 2035 (after which the program could still pay 80% of benefits). But that can be done in part by raising the payroll tax cap on wealthy earners — and making them pay their fair share into Social Security. And allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices with pharmaceutical manufacturers will significantly extend the program’s solvency and help seniors.
With budget deficits rising every day and pressure mounting to reduce them on the backs of retirees and workers, we simply cannot leave anything to chance. Help us wage a winning battle to defeat the “TRUST Act” once and for all!
Sincerely,
