Involving Men in the Abortion Debate
From Life Issues Institute:
A recent study published in the Journal of Adolescent Health is a thinly veiled attempt to get men to support abortion. The team at the University of Utah announced male adolescents are 'abortion beneficiaries.' Because they 'reap financial [career] benefits' from staying in college. Clearly, they’re trying to appeal to the male self-interest. What [a woman] really need[s], is the father of her baby at her side, supporting her and the child."
Read more HERE.
Penned by a father who lost his child to abortion, "There’s no point here and now to reflect on those moments up until the abortion of our baby. Jad is not here, and that’s all that matters. I will never hold him. I will never see what he looked like. I will never tickle his feet. I will never hear his laugh. I will never be able to love him….”
Julaine Appling, WFA president, comments, "In the abortion debate, men are often ignored—almost as if they have had nothing to do with the conception of a new human life. On all levels, we need to involve men in this issue. Many men tell me they believe they should have a say in whether or not the woman aborts their baby. And men should definitely be held accountable to provide some kind of support for the child they have fathered."

School Choice, Religious Freedom at Stake
The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty, on behalf of former Governor Scott Walker, filed a friend-of-the-court brief to the United States Supreme Court in Espinoza v. Montana, a critical school choice and religious freedom case before the justices this session. Around 14 states have broad interpretations of the so-called “Blaine Amendments” that restrict state funds from going directly or indirectly to religious organizations. This essentially prevents school voucher programs in those states. The Walker brief supports Montana’s school choice law.

Essentially, government is to be neutral when it comes to religion, which means it can’t discriminate against nor privilege it. Voucher programs that allow students to go to private schools must include religious private schools. Wisconsin has a Blaine amendment, but in the late 90s, our state supreme court rightly interpreted the First Amendment and upheld our voucher program.
Jesus Lunch Expanding To Feed Those Hungering for More Than Pizza
"The 'Jesus Lunch' program is now being offered in Verona and Madison, according to the organization's Facebook page. It is run independently of area schools and provides a free lunch to high school students while sharing a biblical message. In Madison, organizers are hosting the program on Mondays to students at James Madison Memorial High School at a location near the school.
Organizers will serve students who attend Verona High School on Wednesdays at Harriet Park."
Read more HERE.
A free lunch, voluntarily attended, and some talk about God’s Word. Sounds wonderful to us—and apparently to hundreds of kids in these high schools. We’ve had reports of over 500 showing up at one of these Jesus lunches in Middleton already this year. Apparently kids are hungry for more than pizza. God bless these folks who are providing food for their souls as well as their bodies.

PARENTAL ADVISORY
Are your kids being set up for gambling addiction?
Do your kids play video games that have loot boxes or lock boxes? Loot boxes are digital grab bags that players have to spend real or in-game currency on, and the trick is the player never knows what’s inside. Recently the National Council on Problem Gambling participated in a federal workshop on these loot boxes. It turns out loot boxes bear striking resemblances to slot machines and are strongly associated with gambling addiction. Research also shows children and young men are among those most likely to experience negative consequences from loot boxes.
"Hardcore gamers will spend $80 at a time on paying for loot boxes which may or may not contain the things they want. With each loot box purchase, there is the risk of losing — but there is also the chance of winning. Before you know it, you’ve spent $80 on a game which cost $60 to buy.
This is gambling, but it’s almost worse than that. The stakes may not be as high (you cannot, for example, lose $5,000 on loot boxes as quickly as you might do with roulette) but the regulation is non-existent. Online casinos are legally obliged to promote responsible gambling and certain practices are banned. For loot boxes, however, anything goes." (Source: thedigitalbridges.com)
Here’s another parents beware moment. You might not know what loot boxes are, but if your kids play video games, you can be sure they do. What the kids don’t know is they are being set up to develop a gambling addiction. Apparently the government is considering stepping in regarding these features; but even if they don’t, parents, please be aware and at least talk with your kids about this.
