The election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris offers an opportunity to not only end all the damage Trump caused, but begin to build a better government where everyone has access to the health care they need to build their own future.

The Title X gag rule was a brutal attack on people's ability to get essential sexual and reproductive health care. It most harms those who have always faced systemic barriers to health care, including people in rural areas, and Black, Latino, and Indigenous communities. By forcing community health care providers like Planned Parenthood out of the Title X program, it has put the health and safety of low income patients all over the country in jeopardy.

It's past time to dismantle this cruel and dangerous rule, designed to deny people access to the care they need. Speak out now by leaving a comment that urges the Biden‑Harris administration to repeal the gag rule. We need the administration to know that moving swiftly to end the gag rule is a top priority.

The gag rule was designed specifically to target abortion providers — in practice, it forced community health care providers like Planned Parenthood health centers out of the program, taking away access to affordable reproductive health care, like birth control and life-saving cancer screenings, through the program.

This rule directly attacks low-income communities who already suffer the most from systemic barriers to care. And let's be clear: The COVID-19 pandemic has only made matters worse, as access to sexual and reproductive health care is inextricably tied to health and safety during the pandemic.

When we think about who gets the opportunity to receive health care, we know it should be EVERYONE. It should NEVER depend on income level, race, or ZIP code. But the reality is, it does. And Trump's gag rule makes that reality worse.

To help ensure everyone has access to affordable reproductive health care, we must dismantle the Title X gag rule. Don't wait — leave a comment urging the Biden‑Harris administration to lift this rule now.

Don't get me wrong, even with the gag rule gone there will still be a long way to go in order to remove barriers to reproductive health care and build true health care equity. But we MUST get this done, and soon — essential health care can't wait.
