We just kicked off the Virginia Values coalition—the movement to pass legislation that protects LGBT Virginians from discrimination in housing, employment and public places! It’s an exciting moment. We’re in a better position to win than we've ever been, and we’re ready to hit the ground running. 

But this isn’t our first rodeo. We know our opponents will take this as their cue to start spreading lies about these nondiscrimination protections and LGBT people more broadly.

We need you to help us fight back with the truth by sharing our new Mythbuster campaign on social media.

We’ve got a lot going for us in this fight. Virginians believe in treating others as they themselves want to be treated. We can all agree that discrimination is wrong, and everyone deserves a safe place to call home. Polling even shows that a majority of Virginians want these protections. And yet, many Virginians who agree with us on this will still be susceptible to the myths our opponents are intent on spreading.  

As this work heats up, our friends and neighbors will be bombarded with fictions about LGBT people and the laws that protect us. 

It's completely normal for our fellow Virginians to have questions and concerns. They need to hear the truth from the people they know and love.  

That’s where we come in. We need to remind them that these fictions are designed to make them afraid for their freedoms and their safety. These are myths. And we’re here to bust them.
