Hello,

Last week, President Joe Biden took action to combat the gun violence epidemic. This move came after a devastating increase in mass shootings shocked our nation and took the lives of countless Americans.

President Biden's will:

- Tighten restrictions on so-called "ghost guns," guns that are assembled using kits;
- Impose regulations on stabilizing braces, devices which make guns more deadly;
- Crackdown on weapons converters;
- Allocate more resources toward tracing firearms that cross state lines;
- And much more.

These are critical steps in the right direction, but we need to go further. We must pass common-sense gun safety legislation.

Derek and his colleagues passed the Bipartisan Background Checks Act and the Enhanced Background Checks Act last month. Will you stand with Derek and show your support for these lifesaving pieces of legislation?

These common-sense gun safety reforms are long overdue, friend. But partisan obstruction and special interest lobbying have stood in the way of these essential reforms becoming law.

Combating gun violence shouldn't be a partisan issue. It's why a majority of Americans -- Democrats and Republicans alike -- support common-sense gun safety measures such as universal background checks.

If you want to see Congress pass gun safety reform legislation, will you add your name next to Derek's? Sign his petition today.
