Hi John,
Every day, I fight for policies to reform our criminal justice system, enhance health outcomes, and fund more social services. That's why I strongly support legalizing marijuana at the federal level.
More and more states are legalizing marijuana every year -- but until the federal government follows suit, we'll still be wasting money on the failed War on Drugs, forgoing billions in potential revenue, and keeping Black and Brown Americans imprisoned for nonviolent crimes.
Last year, the House passed the Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement (MORE) Act in the House -- but it stalled in Mitch McConnell's legislative graveyard.
Now, with New Mexico, New York, and Virginia legalizing marijuana and many other states set to follow, the time is past due for federal legislation.
I'm polling my constituents so that we can speak out with one unified voice and show that every day we fail to legalize marijuana is a day we fail to achieve justice. I need 1,000 signatures on this petition by tomorrow -- will you join me? >> [link removed]
Thank you so much for voicing your opinion. With our combined efforts, I know we can make a change and move closer towards equality in our criminal justice system.
