John,
Just days after another mass shooting in Texas, Republicans in the House of Representatives have brought HB 1927 by Rep. Matt Schaefer to the floor for a debate and vote.
It's nauseating to think that Texas Republicans would even present this bill on the floor when they have vehemently opposed every attempt to help the people of El Paso, of Midland-Odessa, of Sutherland Springs, of Santa Fe and so many other victims of mass shootings.
Did you know...
The El Paso shooter imported an AK-47 and 1,000 rounds of ammunition from overseas and drove across the state openly-carrying to murder "as many Mexicans as possible." It wasn't until he fired the first shot that he committed a crime.
The Midland-Odessa shooter failed a background check, yet loopholes in our state's background check system allowed him to acquire a firearm and commit mass murder in 2019.
The Sutherland Springs shooter was not legally allowed to own a gun following a domestic violence conviction. Officials still don't know how he erroneously passed a background check anyway.
Bottom Line: Permitless carry will put EVERY Texan at risk.
The Texas Constitution asks our legislators to create laws that ensure anyone in our state with a gun is responsible with it. Permitless carry legislation negates the duties our constituion instills in our legislature.
Speak out! Let Texas Republicans know that you will hold them accountable for their deriliction of duties.

Earlier this month a poll conducted by SurveyUSA showed that 79% of Republicans and 86% of Democrats oppose permitless carry in Texas.
Those who oppose HB 1927 must not fear being vocal. WE are the majority! It's time to take a stand against unfettered gun access.
Lives are literally on the line here.
Pissed off and fired up,
