So we’re sharing this memo with you today to be transparent with our supporters with the expectation that you will hold us accountable in reaching these goals. Truth to Power Priorities
Truth to Power PAC is dedicated to electing candidates who will stand up to the corporate special interests, lobbyists, and corrupt politicians who have dominated our government for far too long. We need new leaders who will be independent voices for change and will fight to reform our political system and economy.
Working families deserve representatives who will fight for their needs, even when it means taking risks and speaking up. Our political future depends on strong voices who do not bend to power but instead fight for people.
Truth to Power supporters will join Rep. Katie Porter in working to level the playing field for candidates running against opponents backed by special interests and political insiders. When someone supports Truth to Power, they’re helping to elect candidates who will fight for equal rights for all, political and economic reform, a woman’s right to choose, gun violence prevention, and concrete action to fight climate change.
Reminders for 2021

The importance of raising early money now, so that a progressive challenger has automatic, strong momentum the moment they throw their hat in the race.

The more we raise now, the more candidates we can support in 2022, and the more resources we have to flip seats held by corrupt politicians backed by big money.

In order for corrupt politicians to stay in office, they use money and connections as their weapon. Building grassroots power and exposing that truth is ours.

Early money was the key to Rep. Katie Porter’s historic victory in 2018. If we want to elect more leaders like Rep. Porter, we need to start raising the resources for them right now.
Conclusion
2022, 2022, 2022. The urgency of this moment is that we must build power now for what’s to come next year. But there really is no “off year” in politics, and what we do today—right now—will make a significant difference in not only keeping the House, but building the most progressive Congress we’ve seen.
