Friend --
A year ago, I wrote and sent a letter to Governor JB Pritzker
urging him to change course in his handling of the COVID-19
pandemic.
This letter, signed by seven other Republicans, implored Governor
Pritzker to include the Illinois General Assembly as partners in the
state’s pandemic response. It also urged Pritzker to allow businesses
to reopen where they could do so in a safe manner, rather than keeping
our state shutdown indefinitely in pursuit of an impossible goal—the
disappearance of the COVID-19.
Regrettably, our advice went unheeded. The disease ultimately
spread regardless of Governor Pritzker’s shutdown efforts and the
Governor’s failure to collaborate with the Illinois General Assembly
undoubtedly cost lives and needlessly divided our state.
True leaders listen. Our state would be stronger if JB Pritzker had
listened to us one year ago.
Many Republicans will be running for Governor in 2022. I am the one
candidate who can point out the policy mistakes that JB Pritzker made
in his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please help me spread the message that JB Pritzker failed the
people of Illinois by not understanding the science of COVID-19 and
not asking the tough questions. You can donate to our campaign here.
Thanks for reading and keep working to fix Illinois!
