Dairy Farmers of America has joined Unilever, Starbucks and Vanguard Renewables to form the Farm Powered Strategic Alliance (FPSA). The FPSA aims to reduce carbon emissions and food waste in agriculture.
While Animal Outlook applauds DFA’s sustainability efforts, its focus on reducing the disastrous environmental effects of factory farming ignores the best solution: Switching to plant-based milks. The FPSA also does not address the welfare of mother cows and calves like the ones an Animal Outlook investigator found suffering at this facility that supplied milk to DFA. The only way to end this violence and help our planet is to opt for a delicious plant-based diet.
Please join us in urging DFA to reduce its carbon footprint by shifting 20 percent of its supply chain to plant-based alternatives with a quick comment on social media.

Does the Law Protect Farmed Animals?

Our victories against the systemic cruelty of factory farming are heartening, but the most important functions of our legal actions are bigger than any one case alone: we break new ground by using existing laws in creative ways to address the animals’ interests.
