John,

It may not feel like election season yet, but many voters across Washington State will have an opportunity to vote in an April special election this month!

April special election ballots may include important issues like funding for school districts, fire districts, or parks. Special elections don't get as much attention, but the issues on these ballots are important!

Voting at every level is critical for a healthy democracy.

Here's how you can ensure your voice is heard in this election:

Make sure you are registered to vote [[link removed]] at your current address by April 19th. Check the Secretary of State's website [[link removed]] to learn more about the special election and see if your county is participating. Not eligible to vote or not in a county that has a special election? Reach out to 3 friends who can vote in this election and ensure they cast their ballot.

Ballots were mailed out to voters in participating counties last week; you should receive yours soon if you have not already. Remind your friends and family to vote and get your ballot in a dropbox or postmarked by April 27th.

Thank you for being a part of our democracy.
