Congressional Briefing on Complete Inclusive Immigration Reform
Wednesday, May 12 | 12-2:30 p.m. CT (1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT)
Gamaliel's Civil Rights of Immigrants Campaign and UCLA's North American Integration and Development Center invite you to attend a Congressional Briefing on Complete Inclusive Immigration Reform. The event will feature research on the economic impact of immigration reform, testimonies from the community, and statements from elected representatives.
Spanish interpretation will be available. Register in advance here [[link removed]] , and contact Juan F. Soto at
[email protected] for more information.
Gamaliel stands in protest and mourning against the brutal death of Daunte Wright at the hands of police officers April 11.
It is not lost on us that like George Floyd, Daunte Wright died because of the knee jerk, violent reaction of a veteran police officer to a nonviolent situation. It is not lost on us that once again, we are asked to look upon these officers with compassion and a violent death as a simple mistake, as if our ability to see these perpetrators as human will restore the human life and dignity stolen from Daunte Wright and George Floyd.

National Leadership Training and Entrenamiento en Español remain online, but attendance keeps climbing
Before the pandemic, the most high-tech tool used in Gamaliel National Leadership Training was a dry erase marker. When we moved training online, it was a huge adjustment, but we were ready for the challenge.
Over the last year, we’ve not only upheld our training schedule, but we've also increased our capacity for online participation. Our August 2020 NLT cohort had 40 participants, November 2020 had 60 — and our most recent cohort, March 2021, put 80 people on their paths to power.
We’re extremely grateful for our trainers, especially the five who were new to NLT and performed like pros, and the four others who stepped up to take on more demanding training sessions.
We also offer training in Spanish! In February, we hosted 48 Spanish-speaking leaders for Entrenamiento en Español online. These leaders are taking on the Complete Inclusive Immigration Reform Campaign by storm for family reunification, DACA and support for essential workers. Our next Entrenamiento en Español will be held August 8-13. More information to come!
