We have to put in the work now in order to prove them wrong in 2022.

I saw a couple of recent headlines, and I have to tell you -- they really worry me.

“Democrats’ Control of the House Is Increasingly Fragile”
- New York Magazine

“The House looks like a GOP lock in 2022”
- The Washington Post

Experts say the House Majority is close to a sure thing for Washington Republicans. If we’re going to prove them wrong in 2022, we can’t wait to invest in our campaign -- we need to build on our grassroots strength now. If you can, will you chip in a few dollars before the mid-month deadline tomorrow?

History doesn’t favor our chances.

The party in control of the White House nearly always loses seats during the midterms. In 2010, Democrats lost 63 House seats, and in 2018, Washington Republicans lost 40 seats. We only have FIVE seats between us and a Republican majority.

Congressional redistricting will happen in nearly every district over the course of the next year, and as it stands right now, Washington Republicans have control over redrawing district lines in nearly 200 districts.

And the National GOP already made Mikie one of only 10 House Democrats on its Redistricting Watch list for 2022.

We already knew we were in for a tough fight. And we know what we have to do, because we did it in 2018 and 2020.

We need to build a strong, far-reaching grassroots organization that can connect with voters and keep NJ-11 and the House blue. And we need a surge of small-dollar contributions ahead of tomorrow’s mid-month deadline. If you can, chip in here →

Thanks,

Leigh
