Dear Friend,
As I am sure you know, next week is the so-called “marijuana holiday” 4/20.
Coincidentally, many of us in the public health space have held many events in recent years on this day in an attempt to “reclaim” the day from those who wish to normalize the use of marijuana and downplay the harms its proliferation has and continues to cause.

Join me, former Congressman and fellow SAM co-founder Patrick J. Kennedy, our Communications and Community Outreach Associate Will Jones III, and our Regional Field Organizer Marinés Rodriguez as we discuss the importance of “taking back” 4/20 and how Smokescreen can play a crucial role in that effort.
Very special guest Dr. Deborah Hasin, Professor of Epidemiology at Columbia University, will also join us to discuss her work on cannabis use disorder (CUD) and the harms of today’s marijuana.
If you can make it, I’d love to have you join us to celebrate the launch of Smokescreen and discuss how we plan on pushing back on Big Marijuana’s attempt to addict a new generation of users and put profits ahead of public health and safety.
Thank you for all that you do,
