** Info session on ERC funding possibilities for youth arts projects
------------------------------------------------------------

NYCI is collaborating with Léargas to bring you this online session exploring the possibilities within the Solidarity Grant for youth arts projects. Solidarity projects are youth-led initiatives carried out by at least five young people aged 18-30. They can last from two to 12 months, and there are grants of up to €8,000 available. Call for applications: Youth 2030 Young People's Committee

NYCI is excited to announce the second round of the Youth 2030 Young People’s Committee. Since 2020, our Youth 2030 programme has welcomed a cohort of young people to support a strong youth participation movement around global justice issue. Find out more >> ([link removed])

Introduction to stop-motion animation
------------------------------------------------------------

Participants will build their own cut-out puppet from card and animate it using the stop motion studio app. In the course of their creation of the animation, participants will learn how to set up a space to effectively shoot their animation, make use of a variety of materials to create a cut-out puppet, and effectively animate it. ** NYCI Youth Arts Online Summer School
------------------------------------------------------------

This practical and in-depth training aims to bring together youth workers, volunteers, and youth arts practitioners to develop new skills to communicate better with young people in visual and innovative ways. Participants will be provided with inspiration and space to further their creativity. Through our mentoring process, participants will be supported to create a six-week programme ready for implementation over the summer months! Learn more >> ([link removed])



** Survey: Space and participation for all

The National Youth Council of Ireland has been consulting young people in Ireland through the EU Youth Dialogue process on the topic of “Space and Participation for All”. Young people should have access to their right to participate in democracy and this means removing barriers and creating equal opportunity and building bridges between young people and political institutions. The aim of this seminar delivered by Leargas in partnership with our Youth2030 programme is to offer those working with young people an international learning experience, enabling them to develop their competencies in connecting local issues to global issues using the Sustainable Development Goals as a framework. ** Covid-19: guidance for youth services

We continue to work with officials in the department to revise the guidance in response to any new restrictions and will continue to update the Guidance for Youth Organisations on Resuming Full Services ([link removed]) . We will also update the official DCEDIY/NYCI Covid Induction for Youth Services

** FYRC Step Up for Youth Mental Health
------------------------------------------------------------

Finglas young people and staff have walked (virtually) from Dublin to Venice to raise money for the ‘Hear me Out’ youth mental health service - a youth counselling service for Finglas - while also promoting physical activity to support mental wellbeing during the pandemic.


** Youth Work Ireland Week
------------------------------------------------------------

Youth Work Ireland Week is an annual week of celebrating the work of local youth services around Ireland. This year the week will take place from April 26th - May 2nd and the focus will be on youth work outdoors. Find out more >> ([link removed])

** Irish Girl Guides boosting youth mental health
------------------------------------------------------------

Irish Girl Guides’ youth mental health programme has received a welcome boost from the ESB Energy for Generations Fund. The €10,000 grant is helping IGG continue to promote positive mental health by covering the cost of 3,000 Healthy Mind badges, a special Healthy Minds edition of the IGG magazine Trefoil News, and the upskilling of volunteer leaders in delivering the IGG Healthy Mind programme. Fundraising Online: #FRO2021

** SFI Discover Programme Science Week call

Science Foundation Ireland is pleased to launch the SFI Discover Programme Science Week Call 2021. The purpose of this call is to provide support to festivals and events nationwide that encourage people, in particular those underrepresented in STEM, or those with less access to STEM, to engage in ways that are relevant and accessible during Science Week 2021 and beyond. ** Help design sports programmes for teenage girls
------------------------------------------------------------

Sport Ireland recently launched a piece of research titled ‘Girls Get Active Report’ which explored the attitudes of inactive teenage girls towards sport and physical activity. As you might be familiar, only 7% of teenage girls obtain the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity per day. It is important for us that we put the research into practice but also involve teenage girls and young women as we try to design sport and exercise opportunities for them. This workshop series offers a deep-dive into the idea of the awesome solution, exploring the concept across a range of disciplines, methodologies, and facilitators, bringing you through a variety of processes that can be adapted and integrated into your own work. Exploring development education topics and global and social justice means covering complex issues, discussing interconnected systemic BIG world problems, things that often feel outside of our control can be overwhelming. MA in Advanced Facilitation Skills for Health and Well Being

The MA in Advanced Facilitation Skills is an innovative practice orientated programme. This is a full time course and its delivery reflects the flexibility required for adult learners.
