Cooper vetoed a bad budget bill that would have shortchanged teachers, health care, and the environment. Debates Make Climate Change a Hot Topic Nights one and two of the first Democratic presidential debate featured climate change as a strong focus, coming in only second to health care. Supremes Allow Gerrymandering to Continue In a disappointing decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that partisan gerrymandering is a political issue which the court could not address.
