President Joe Biden recently announced the American Jobs Act, which calls for one of the largest investments in infrastructure our country has ever made. We all know repairing our roads and bridges is critical to keeping Iowa’s economy moving, but I’m also focused on other investments that will ensure Iowa isn’t lacking the infrastructure we need to be competitive.

In the 20th century, access to electricity became essential to participate in the modern economy – as did continued access to telephone lines and the city center. My question to you is whether it’s time to make a similar investment in broadband to ensure all Iowans have access to high-speed internet.
