We’re facing one of the worst hunger crises in the country, right here in Massachusetts. During the pandemic, we had the largest increase in the rate of food insecure children in the country – 102%. This crisis is disproportionately impacting Black and brown children in Massachusetts, who are twice as likely to experience hunger and its lifelong consequences.

 

Hundreds of thousands of Massachusetts residents are eligible for SNAP but aren’t receiving it. Help us spread the word to your friends and neighbors – they may be eligible for food assistance.

 

 

These statistics are heartbreaking, but help is available. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a vital anti-hunger tool that helps families put healthy, nutritious meals on the table. It’s been proven to lift families out of poverty, reduce food insecurity, and improve health, academic attendance, and achievements.

 

In honor of SNAP Awareness Week, please check to see if you’re eligible for SNAP and spread the word to your friends and family to check as well.
