We wanted to share with you an update regarding the status of the Save Women's Sports Act we've been spearheading (HB358): The Save Women’s Sports Act was heard at an NC House Judiciary I Committee hearing at the General Assembly today. 



We're grateful for bill sponsor Rep. Mark Brody and all the other individuals involved in getting the bill to where it is today. This includes a number of today's speakers who spoke powerfully in favor of passing HB358.



Dr. Greg Brown, a Professor of Exercise Science at the University of Nebraska-Kearney testified at the hearing. He told the House Committee:



"There are important biological differences between boys and girls, men and women. These biological differences give boys and men a 10-60% advantage in sports performance compared to girls and women. Research indicates that these differences in performance are not erased due to male-to-female hormone use." (Dr. Greg Brown, Professor of Exercise Science, University of Nebraska-Kearney)



ADuke University Study <[link removed]>confirms Dr. Brown's testimony.  





Beth Stelzer, the Founder of Save Women’s Sports <[link removed]>, traveled to Raleigh to personally speak at the hearing. She stated:



“Save Women’s Sports Foundation commends North Carolina for stepping up to protect female athletes. It is important to understand that this bill is not a ban. It is simply designed to protect athletic opportunities for females--the original intent of Title IX. The Save Women’s Sports Act will guarantee fair play for females and we are glad to return to North Carolina and extend continued support for the bill.” (Beth Stelzer, Founder Save Women's Sports)











Our nonpartisan organization is honored to stand beside other organizations such as the Save Women’s Sports Foundation to promote this legislation. This issue has united women from all walks of life across the political spectrum who believe in fairness for female athletes. 76% of North Carolinians believe that allowing biological men to compete against women is unfair—and we ask the North Carolina General Assembly to do the right thing for female athletes of today and the generations to come”.
