John, if my name sounds familiar, you might remember me as the Democrat in the ultra-competitive 2018 Ohio Special Election.

In the 2018 Ohio Special Election, the race was too-close-to-call on Election Night. And in the end, we came within one point of flipping a district that has been red since 1983.

That's remarkable, and I'll be forever grateful to the grassroots supporters who put their faith in me and supported our campaign.

I'll be honest, John: I wasn’t planning on running for Congress again.

But then March 2020 hit.

And as the pandemic raged on, I watched as every Congressional Republican from Ohio voted against the working families of this community when they needed them most.

I can’t imagine anything more cowardly than the people putting their trust into your service and abandoning them when the going gets tough.

So, I've decided to run for Congress again, to make sure that working families like mine have someone looking out for them — and fighting for them — in Washington, D.C.

In my lifetime, I’ve seen wages stagnate across the state.

I’ve seen my neighbors go bankrupt from hospital bills.

And I’ve seen our representatives do nothing to change it.
