How is it that in 2021, the residents of the nation’s capital are essentially second-class citizens?

That statement might surprise some people, John, but it’s true. The population of Washington, D.C. is 47% Black, pays more in taxes than the residents of 22 states, and pays more per capita to the federal government than every other state. It’s time they got a vote in Congress.

Simply put, D.C. Statehood is a civil rights issue.

John, thousands of D.C. residents are counting on us. D.C. residents have defended our seat of government without hesitation — they deserve to have a seat at the table. Can you sign our petition and stand with the millions of Americans calling for D.C. statehood?

The actions of Congress and the Supreme Court affect all 712,000 residents of the District of Columbia. It’s time we corrected a generational injustice and give the residents of D.C. the equality and autonomy in their government they rightfully deserve.

The time for D.C. Statehood is NOW. John, sign your name and join the thousands of Americans calling on Congress to give Washington D.C. the full rights and privileges of the states.

Thanks for fighting with us,
Team Hank
