Dear John--
At NIAC Action, we work to build political power so that Iranian Americans and our allies have influence on the decisions made by our government to advance our values through civic and political engagement. However, the over 700,000 residents of Washington DC have no representation in our Senate and no vote in Congress.
Now, a new DC Statehood Bill would end this lack of representation and make DC the 51st State. The bill's passage would mean more political power for the approximately 1,600 Iranian Americans living in DC.
NIAC’s DC Metro Area Chapter is considering supporting these bills. But as a member based-organization, we want to hear from you before we make a decision. Can you take 30 seconds to let us know whether or not you think NIAC Action should support DC Statehood? [[link removed]]
