John —

I wanted to bring up an important issue today: The Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act.

This isn’t legislation I see as optional — I see it as necessary. The United States has the worst maternal mortality rate in the modern world, and Black women are three to four times more likely than white women to die from pregnancy. It’s an unacceptable truth that we must fix in our country.

In honor of Black Maternal Health Week this week, will you add your name in support of the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act? This critical legislation will save Black mothers’ lives. Click here to sign on → [[link removed]] ADD MY NAME [[link removed]]
We must hold our healthcare system accountable for the inequities embedded in it. We must work to right those wrongs, and we must work to protect Black women and their families.

This legislation will work to save moms’ lives, end the racial and ethnic disparities in maternal health outcomes, and work to achieve maternal health justice for Black women and all women of color.

Thank you for taking action,

Jan
