This week
is Black Maternal Health Week.
We’re reminded, once again, that Black women continue to face disparate
maternal health outcomes as a result of structural racism and inequitable
access to high-quality, comprehensive care.
Black mamas matter.
They are the backbone of our families and our communities. And in a
political moment where many are giving Black women flowers for their
social and political contributions, it’s long past time to speak plainly
about the threats they face — including explicit bias within health
settings and the highest maternal mortality rate among the world’s
developed nations.

for bold and urgently necessary solutions to the Black maternal mortality
crisis — will you join her by making a $3 contribution now?

Make no mistake, maternal health care is a racial justice issue, and it
demands bold, systemic solutions to get at the root causes of the
preventable negative maternal health outcomes suffered by Black women.
That’s why we are fighting to expand Medicaid to cover comprehensive pre-
and post-partum care, to pass the Anti-Racism in Public Health Act, and —
ultimately — to pass Medicare for All, to guarantee high-quality,
accessible care for all.
The urgency around Black maternal mortality is only increasing, and our
movement is committed to meeting the moment.
[ [link removed] ]Will you join Ayanna in meeting this moment by making a contribution
now to stand with Black mamas nationwide?
We must transform our health care systems to center their experiences and
ensure that comprehensive pre- and post-partum care is universally
available.
Thank you for being our partners in this work,
The A-Team
