Dear John,
As I’m sure you are aware, there have been many troubling anti-freedom actions taken by the new presidential administration—not even 3 months into the new term.
However, today I’d like to draw your attention to one specific area that especially concerns me: some of the highly alarming choices being made for key leadership positions in our government.
These are people who now wield great power—and demonstrate a disturbing record of using their power to harass and outright attack religious Americans.
This should be a startling wake-up call to every person of faith in America, including you.
Can I count on you to join me in standing against this tyranny with your donation today?
Let me give you just a few examples of what I’m talking about.
Richard Torres-Estrada was recently hired as the “Chief of Diversity and Inclusion” of the U.S. Military Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).
His history of inflammatory remarks made about conservative figures (he once compared former President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler, for example) make it abundantly clear: he will almost certainly continue—and even accelerate—the alarming trend of hostility to religion in our armed forces.
Xavier Becerra, the newly-appointed head of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), has taken it several steps further than just hostile comments.
He defended California’s FACT Act, which required all health care entities to refer for abortions or be penalized up to $1,000. He sued the Little Sisters of the Poor, attempting to force the nuns to provide contraception for their employees. And he defended a law that required California churches to pay for elective abortion coverage—defying an official HHS notice.
And then there’s Rachel Levine, recently confirmed as Assistant Secretary of Health at HHS working under Xavier Becerra.
In what would be an extremely dangerous threat to your religious liberty, Levine suggested disbanding the HHS’s Office of Conscience and Religious Freedom Division (OCRFD) altogether.
Levine also called it “immoral and unethical” to allow for religious exemptions to the Affordable Care Act’s (Obamacare) contraceptive mandate, and would likely lead implementation of the “Equality Act” were it ever signed into law...a bill that would truly destroy religious liberty as we know it in our nation.
The list goes on...and is unlikely to stop anytime soon.
It is essential that we respond to these troubling developments with decisive action.
To this end, First Liberty has developed bold strategic plans to stop the attempts by these radicals to reduce and restrict your freedoms. As you know, we have taken on big-government tyrants of every kind for decades—and still maintain an unparalleled win rate to this day.
But we cannot follow through on these crucial initiatives and keep accomplishing these key victories without your support.
And we simply cannot afford to give ground now, with the opposition growing bolder than ever.
We must seize this moment for victory while we still can.
Will you join me in standing against the anti-faith radicals to win for religious liberty?
With your support, we will defeat this extremist agenda and preserve our constitutional republic for future generations.
Let’s go all in together!
Gratefully,
Kelly
