Rana Abdelhamid is running for Congress in New York’s 12th Congressional
District, and she’s a Justice Democrat.

Rana is a New Yorker and a child of working-class Egyptian immigrants.
Growing up, her family was caught between the gentrification of her
neighborhood and rising rents, forcing her father to close the deli he
owned and her family to move several times. She’s running for Congress to
help every single person in this country facing economic hardship and
displacement.

"It's time for true representation that reflects all of us at the bottom,
not just those at the top."

Rana knows that the government can no longer ignore communities in need,
while it allows the richest Americans and corporations to profit off the
suffering. We need more people like Rana in Congress to fight for
working-class people.

After 9/11, Rana and her family faced harassment, assault, and
surveillance because of their Muslim faith. She knows first hand that the

immigrant justice, we need a government that will root out racism,
xenophobia, and discrimination from structures of our society. Rana is
ready to take that on this work.

all, Green New Deal jobs, Medicare for All, an end to mass incarceration,
full COVID relief for working families and small businesses, and so much
