FINALLY! We have something to celebrate. Yesterday, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that it would remove the in-person dispensing requirement on medication abortion for the duration of the pandemic. 🎉

No one should have to travel long distances or risk their health to get the medication abortion care they need during a pandemic. And now — thanks to the Biden-Harris administration’s decision to follow the science — they won’t have to.

John, this is a huge win for abortion access — but it’s only temporary. We need your support to ensure the FDA follows the science to permanently lift all of the harmful restrictions on medication abortion care beyond the pandemic.

Medication abortion is safe and effective, and the FDA should continue following the science to make medication abortion care accessible to every body. That means lifting the medically unnecessary restrictions on this care beyond the pandemic.
