Our Ranked Choice Voting bill authors in the Minnesota Senate, led by chief author Sen. Kent Eken, will host a briefing this Thursday, April 15 from 9:00-9:30am to highlight the importance of this legislation and denounce the effort to ban RCV in the Senate Elections Omnibus bill (SF 1831) that will be heard in the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday morning.

Our bill authors, including Senators Eken, Lindsey Port, Mary Kunesh, Jim Carlson, Gregory Clausen, Jennifer McEwen, and Ann Johnson Stewart, will showcase the powerful potential of RCV at this moment when we need to do everything we can to protect and strengthen our democracy. They will also speak out against the effort to ban RCV and other anti-democratic measures in the Senate Elections Omnibus bill.
Despite these anti-democratic efforts, there is tremendous support for the RCV legislation in both houses. The Senate RCV bills — SF 218 by Sen. Eken, SF 1651 by Sen. Port and SF 2159 by Sen. Kunesh — have a total of 15 cosponsors, and the House RCV legislation has 45 authors! Please support our authors, democracy champions one and all, by joining this event! The media will be invited and have an opportunity to ask questions.
Thank you for helping us to push RCV legislation forward this session, and everything you are doing to advance a stronger, more resilient and more representative democracy in Minnesota.
