Have you seen the forecast for Saturday? Normally we are cold and pretty damp for the Oregon March for Life but not this year!
Dear John,Have you seen the forecast for Saturday? Normally we are cold and damp for the Oregon March for Life but not this year! Please join us at 2:15 pm in front of the Capitol building. The
approximately one-mile March for Life will immediately follow our speakers. We've been notified that the Oregon Capitol will not be empty this year. During our event, the House will be having a floor session. Rep. Vicki Breese Iverson (HD 55), our emcee, has asked for an excused absence because this issue is SO important. Here are a couple of important pieces of information: - We will be providing three different signs, although you are welcome to bring your own. Please do not bring any sign with words like "murder" on them. We work very hard for the pro-life movement
to be taken seriously as a compassionate human rights movement here in Oregon. Offensive signs undermine that work.
- Please wear a mask or a face shield and use good social distancing at the event. We know that there are many different positions on this issue. However, we are under a microscope, with the media waiting for any opportunity they can to hide our real concerns and misrepresent our movement. Thank you so much for accommodating this request.
- There is free three-hour parking in Salem on Saturdays, but we also have a lot reserved for March attendees. You can find all the details here.
See you on Saturday!
Because everyone deserves an advocate,
Lois Anderson
