Asalaamu Alaikum wa rahmtaullahi wa barakatuhu,
The blessed month of Ramadan is upon us and, in spite the difficulties we still face, we are, once again, presented with the opportunity to increase our God consciousness and purify and unite our hearts by Allah SWT.

Ramadan 2021 will see British Muslim communities observe the holy month under unique circumstances. It remains imperative that continue forth to observe a #SafeRamadan, as per the varying levels of restrictions across the UK. The MCB has released a comprehensive Safe Ramadan guide, detailing how we can observe Ramadan safely this year as lockdown restrictions ease.

Since the outset of the pandemic in March 2020, far too many have faced the loss of loved ones, faced isolation and been adversely affected in terms of economic impact. As such, it remains our duty to continue to offer support to those most in need within our communities. In this month of giving, let us find new ways to continue to stay connected and be of service.
Indeed it is the tireless efforts of our frontline workers, who have continued to serve the nation through the most difficult times, that we should strive to emulate. May Allah SWT keep them blessed and strong.

In this spirit of service and in pursuit of a common good, the MCB will be running our 'Make a Difference' campaign this Ramadan. With your support, we will continue to deliver vital interventions through our COVID-19 Recovery Groups, develop mosques through capacity building initiatives like Our Mosques Our Future, bring communities together through national campaigns like Visit My Mosque, tackle Islamophobia in the media through our dedicated Centre for Media Monitoring and run transformative projects like the Women in Mosques Development Programme, cultivating the women mosque leaders of tomorrow.

I look forward to joining affiliate organisations, associates and friends from across the country for virtual iftaars, and strengthening the connections between us, so we can work together to build an MCB that benefits all of society, insha'Allah.
May the Almighty accept our worship, unite our hearts & bestow His mercy & blessings upon us as we observe this blessed month, inshAllah.
From myself and the MCB team, to you and yours, Ramadan Mubarak.
Yours faithfully,
Zara Mohammed
MCB Secretary General
