And one of my favorite things about this season is the return of morning bird songs. It is so much easier to get going listening to the cheerful whistles and trills outside my bedroom window.
I’m not an experienced birder by any means. But I’ve always loved watching and listening to birds – whether spotting an osprey circling over the Potomac River while on a bike ride or just observing a mourning dove take a quick dip in a bird bath bowl.
Are you a bird-lover? Do you have cool bird photos or stories to share? If so, we’d love to hear from you. And to spread our love for birds, our newsletter team would like to publish a sample of your bird stories and photos in our next issue of our membership newsletter, Solutions.
You can share your story or photo attachment by emailing us at [email protected].
And you can also share your favorite bird photo on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. Please use the hashtag #EDFLovesNature to make sure we see your photo!
Submission Deadline: Friday, April 23rd.
A few additional quick tips:
- If you’d like your photo to be considered for Solutions, please make sure we can use a higher resolution photo and that the picture is in focus.
- Please consider photos and stories that feature local, non-invasive species.
- And special attention will be given to photos and stories that reflect a rare bird sighting or a unique story about a birding experience.
I’m looking forward to your inspiring stories and photos. And with the weather turning nice, I’m really looking forward to my next bike ride to see if I can spot one or more of our local ospreys.
Thanks so much for your action and support. And happy bird-watching!
Cheers,
Sam Parry
